Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Android Marshmallow update
Samsung's Galaxy S7 Edge came with the latest version of Android, 6.0.1 Marshmallow. As of right now, there have been no other updates past this version, not even from Nexus devices. There was a small security update that went to T-Mobile customers. This was a routine monthly security patch that keeps your device safe. This was rolled out on March 17.
The software version for T-Mobile is now UVS2APB8. Verizon is beginning to issue the same update and the version number is set to be VRS2APB4.
If you want to know whether you have the most up-to-date version of Android, go your devices Settings, scroll down to System, tap About device, and hit Software update. If you want your S7 Edge to automatically update, make sure the Auto update box is checked.
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Android N update
Android N is currently in development, with a Developer Preview released for some Nexus devices, and we expect to hear more about it at Google I/O, which takes place May 18-20.The Samsung S6 Edge starting getting Marshmallow February 15, 2016. This was nearly nine months after it was unveiled at Google I/O 2015 on May 28. We expect to see a similar timeline for Android N for the Galaxy S7 Edge.
Speculation about Android N's name is starting to swirl. We know from source code on the AOSP repository that the three-letter code for Android N is 'NYC', which could be the dessert name 'New York Cheesecake' for the internal name. We don't know the commercial name yet for the update but some guesses are Nutella, nougat, nut brittle and quite a few more.
